Event for Terry McConnell’s Book on Bobby Marshall Takes Place at Springfield College April 8

This is part of the 7th Annual Sports and Justice Symposium at Springfield College

Terry McConnell will present his book, "Breaking Through the Line: Bobby Marshall, the N.F.L.'s First African American Player" at Springfield College from 9:15 am to 10:10 am on Friday April 8, 2022 at the Flynn Campus Union in the Dodge Room. McConnell's presentation will include a video on Bobby Marshall created by Marshall's relative Oliver Sims, a short summary of Marshall's life, a short reading from the book, an original song about Marshall, questions, and book signing.

Following McConnell at 10:30 am will be Howard University football coach, Aaron Kelton, a Springfield College graduate. Kelton was head football coach at Williams College for five years. The focus of the discussion will be the Black Coach as Socal Justice Figure. Springfield College communications professor Marty Dobrow will talk with Kelton about this timely topic.

The Flynn Campus Union at Springfield College is located at 263 Alden St., Springfield, MA 01109. Visitor parking is available at parking lot 4 on Wilbraham Ave.
